LSG vs PBKS

LSG and PBKS’ clash is among the most anticipated in this edition of the IPL. Both teams are competing hard for playoff spots; therefore this match promises great drama.

Currently, Shreyas Iyer’s side sits fourth while Rishabh Pant’s LSG sits sixth on the points table – both teams will do everything in their power to increase their chances of qualifying for playoffs and play their best cricket possible in order to improve their chances.

LSG have managed to come back from their poor start of the season to turn things around in recent matches, thanks to Quinton de Kock at the top of their order as well as Nicholas Pooran and Krunal Pandya’s strong performances with the bat. David Miller is also on his way towards 3000 IPL runs!

Mayank Yadav has been an impressive performer for LSG with his fast bowling against Mumbai Indians and has taken regular wickets for their side. Shardul Thakur has struggled at times but will aim to improve in this matchup.

Punjab Kings have been on an impressive winning streak of late and will look to extend that run on Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They defeated them convincingly last time out and are confident of recording yet another win this time around.

Both teams will make changes to their lineup for this clash, with Glenn Maxwell likely missing due to a hamstring injury; his impressive form at bat this season could well see him miss out; both sides will look to continue this strong run of form with new batsmen coming into the side.

What to Expect:

These teams have met four times previously in IPL play, with the visitors winning three. PBKS has found success exploiting this pitch at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow by favoring spinners over fast bowlers; an advantage for their attacking force which can exploit its characteristics to their fullest extent.

As well, weather forecasters anticipate clear skies for the matchday and pacers could benefit greatly in an all-pacer match, resulting in low scoring affair where team that bowls well may emerge victorious.
