CSK vs PBKS
CSK and PBKS – previously known as Kings XI Punjab – always make for fierce battles, producing some of the biggest upsets and high-scoring nail-biters seen throughout league history.
PBKS has managed to break their losing streak this season and are now on the cusp of making the playoffs race. But in order to keep their chances alive, they must win all their remaining matches to remain relevant in this competition.
MS Dhoni has once again utilized his bench strength, including Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis, for this match against PBKS. However, he may also consider fielding uncapped players such as Vansh Bedi or Deepak Hooda; R Ashwin could make another appearance should conditions support spin bowling.
IPL 2024
This weekend marks the 17th edition of India’s Premier League cricket franchise tournament. Reigning champions Chennai Super Kings aim to defend their crown. Featuring some of the best cricket players worldwide and contributing billions in TV rights and sponsorship agreements to India’s economy through television rights deals and sponsor deals worth billions, Chennai Super Kings hope to capture their fifth championship win this time around.
The IPL is a professional T20 cricket tournament operating on a franchise model, where wealthy consortiums purchase rights to operate teams in specific cities for about $6 million prize pool. The format features round robin group stage matches with single elimination playoff. This year’s format changes include adding two additional teams as well as the introduction of Impact Player feature that enables one player to replace another during IPL matches. Teams will play 14 group matches facing off twice (home and away). Afterward, only four will advance into playoffs consisting of Qualifier 1, Eliminator 1 and finally final.
IPL 2025
TATA IPL 2025 playoffs are drawing nearer. Mumbai Indians (MI) has established an impressive lead with six consecutive victories; however, other teams remain competitive and within striking distance of the top four slots.
Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings all remain in contention for a top two finish, which would give each club two chances to reach the final. But with only a handful of games remaining to go before this battle erupts into full gear!
PBKS must win their next two matches to guarantee qualification, though even then success is far from assured. While they could make the playoffs on 17 points, they would need DC to lose both matches with an exemplary NRR performance, something which seems highly unlikely given that MI has proven themselves a superior opponent during previous playoff encounters.
IPL 2026
After an incredible 2025 season, focus is shifting toward IPL 2026. Teams will make bold moves to secure their ideal player combinations; competition for the title should be more fierce than ever!
This year’s mini-auction will focus on surgical fixes instead of full rebuilds, with India balance and an all-rounder likely being competitively pursued – though keep in mind that trade windows remain where monumental chess moves occur.
Ben Stokes will be one of the star attractions, boasting world-class abilities both batting and bowling. After opting out of entering 2024 mega auction due to workload and injury concerns, competition for his services will be fierce with some big name teams already showing interest in signing him up.
IPL 2027
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is an annual professional cricket tournament organized and managed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. As one of India’s most beloved and lucrative sports events, it takes place each March through May with its final match being hosted at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Each franchise can include no more than six players through retention or RTMs, their base prices being set during auctions for purchase by the highest bidder. Furthermore, the governing body sets match scheduling every season; over the years this number has increased slightly – this season will feature 74 games instead of 80 (the number listed when media rights were sold in 2022) to allow international players to manage their workload better.
IPL 2028
Arun Dhumal, Chairman of India’s Board of Control for Cricket has indicated to ESPNcricinfo that they are considering expanding the Indian Premier League from 2028 onwards into an extensive 94-match season, according to Arun Dhumal of ESPNcricinfo. Such an expansion would allow each team to face each other twice during a regular season; any decision about its expansion will depend on broadcaster feedback as well as how the IPL fits within International Cricket Council FTP calendar windows.
Broadcasters have privately raised concerns over viewer fatigue during IPL tournaments. As TV and streaming numbers tend to drop mid-season, adding two extra weeks would likely prove difficult. Dhumal praised this year’s tournament for its competitive spirit and development of young talent; adding two extra games would likely prove impossible. He hopes that Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) all make playoff contention this time around.
IPL 2029
Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by one run to capture their fourth IPL championship and cement second-place position once more; Chennai on the other hand finished third runners-up overall.
The IPL (Indian Premier League) is an annual professional Twenty20 cricket league organised by BCCI that features ten city-based franchise teams. The IPL is among India’s most beloved and lucrative cricket competitions.
This season, RCB have dropped four straight games and are already out of contention for playoffs – but don’t give up hope just yet if you are an RCB fan – there may still be hope left for winning their inaugural trophy! Here is how RCB can still do just that.
IPL 2030
Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings all require two wins to advance in IPL 2025’s playoffs, and Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill-led side must now contend with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH), Punjab Kings of North America, DC and MI as they battle it out to finish in the top four. In their remaining league stage matches in 2019, GT will face off against RCB, KKR, SRH SRH PBKS DC MI in their remaining league stage encounters versus RCB, KKR SRH PBKS DC and MI.
The BCCI recently indicated its desire to increase IPL to 94 matches for its next media rights cycle, however broadcasters have voiced reservations over a longer league phase that could reduce viewership and advertising revenue – something which may cause it to reconsider its expansion plans. On Saturday, its governing council will meet to discuss this matter; there may also be changes made to franchise structures; but that should happen eventually.
IPL 2031
Indian Premier League fans have seen numerous sporting rivalries form over time in its competition. CSK and MI clashes often grab fans’ attention; however, there are also numerous lesser known rivalries worth highlighting.
Qualifier 1 will pit the top two teams from each group against one another; the victor of that contest will advance directly into the final. Third and fourth-placed teams will face each other in Eliminator match-ups; any loss to either match will face Qualifier 2’s victor for second spot in final.
This weekend, the BCCI’s Apex Council will gather to address several pertinent matters, such as expanding the IPL for 2022. With only six months available currently, franchises find it challenging to acquire quality overseas players; by expanding it for another 12 months this decision could help raise revenue as well.
IPL 2032
Qualifier 1 will determine who gains entry directly into the finals, with third and fourth placed teams playing an Eliminator, wherein their loser will face the winner of Qualifier 2 to compete in Qualifier 2, thus deciding the other spot in the final.
IPL will recommence on May 17 with its inaugural match set for M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, according to an announcement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following a week-long suspension due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan that caused blackouts in Jammu, Udhampur and Pathankot. According to BCCI officials, their decision was reached after consulting franchisees and key stakeholders before finalising its schedule in early March.
