The Cardinals began the second half with a quick scoring drive that ended in Kyler Murray throwing a 6-yard touchdown pass to Michael Wilson, showing his deceptive speed by dodging Jalen Ramsey’s blitz to keep the play moving forward.

Marvin Harrison Jr.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. stands out as one of the NFL’s most promising rookie wideouts. Drafted early, Harrison Jr. made an immediate impactful statement when joining his new team; already becoming its go-to target in the end zone and possibly being one of the top-10 fantasy receivers next season.
After an underwhelming start to his career, Harrison is finally living up to expectations. He should present the Dolphins with plenty of challenges, and should see plenty of targets this game. Harrison excels as an intermediate target who can win with speed and route-running ability.
Harrison has totaled eight catches for 95 yards through three games, netting two touchdowns while being targeted 11 times in the red zone and five trips into the end zone. Furthermore, his offensive coordinator is beginning to utilize him more often in midfield positions which should help boost his numbers further.
Harrison had an exceptional first half, where he caught four passes for 63 yards – including an outstanding 20-yard reception that set up a third down conversion for the Cardinals. Unfortunately, however, during the second quarter, only two out of six targets he attempted caught his attention and were caught successfully.
On their second possession, the Cardinals drove 75 yards on Kyler Murray’s pass to Harrison for a 12-yard touchdown catch, helped along by a botched snap from Miami that resulted in a safety for Arizona and James Conner being blocked on two-point conversion attempt – maintaining their two-point lead over Dolphins.
The Dolphins opened strong with an 11-play drive for 64 yards that resulted in Mostert scoring on one yard to give Miami a 7-0 advantage in their opening stanza. Tagovailoa’s shovel pass to Julian Hill got them into Cardinal territory where Mostert made his goal and gave Miami an early edge.
Trey McBride
McBride had already exceeded 1,000 yards and 10-catch marks this season before returning to play against the Dolphins and making an immediate impactful statement with 10 of 16 targets for 123 yards and one touchdown catch, leading the Cardinals’ comeback victory in overtime.
On Miami’s second drive, Tagovailoa found him for a 35-yard gain to Arizona’s one-yard line on Miami’s first play; Mostert scored on its subsequent play to give Miami an early 7-0 advantage with just over 11 minutes remaining in the quarter.
After Arizona punted back, the Dolphins started their second possession at their own seven-yard line. Following a short gain, Tagovailoa connected with Hill for an 8-yard gain that set up third and one. His pass hit McBride perfectly on a slant route but Kendall Fuller was quick enough to leap up and steal away the football before McBride could catch it.
On the ensuing play, Tagovailoa attempted a fade pass towards McBride’s back shoulder but was interrupted by safety Greg Dortch and forced to settle for a Chad Ryland field goal instead.
Once again, Arizona started their drive with another punt from Miami and ended it with a 12-play, 70-yard drive capped off by Jason Sanders’ 57-yard field goal for a 10-7 lead at halftime. Murray proved instrumental during this drive by hitting McBride twice on post routes for 37 and one yard gains before finding him one more time on a one yard slant with just under one minute remaining in play.
McBride scored on a two-yard screen pass from Murray in the fourth quarter, cutting their deficit to three with 5 minutes left, before they ran out the clock and preserved their victory. Following his impressive play during this match and during the season’s first half overall, he has quickly emerged as a possible breakout candidate for 2024 NFL Draft selection process; currently sharing time with rookie tight end Elijah Higgins but could become their primary option next season.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill may only be staying for a short while in Miami, but he has already begun walking back comments that he wanted out. After meeting with Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier and Head Coach Mike McDaniel this week, his agent is convinced they can work things out between themselves.
After an uneventful first quarter, the Dolphins struck on their second drive of the game. Tua Tagovailoa completed three out of his first five third-down pass attempts en route to a 13-play, 88-yard scoring drive that included Tua’s 31-yard pass to Hill. Jason Sanders completed their drive by scoring 25 yards away with his field goal kick.
The Dolphins increased their lead in the third quarter with another field goal as Tagovailoa completed a 30-yard pass to Hill. They drove downfield twice more before their drives were stalled by two fumbles by Tagovailoa (recovered by Arizona’s Victor Dimukeje) and fullback DeVon Achane near the goalline.
Ryland’s fourth-quarter field goal was the only thing that separated both teams in the fourth period, and the Dolphins came away victorious. Hill earned 185 receiving yards and two touchdowns to lead his team to victory – marking six times this season he has recorded at least that amount.
Hill signed a four-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs that included $72.2 million guaranteed and also included a fifth-round pick and exclusive franchise tag. Since signing his deal, he has established an impressive performance streak while becoming one of the fastest players to surpass 10,000 career receiving yards.
Hill was honored as AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October and tied an NFL record by receiving more than 200 yards against Baltimore Ravens.
On March 23, the Dolphins made an agreement with the Chiefs to trade Hill for three 2022 draft picks: one first-rounder, two second-rounders and two fourth-round picks – all designed to open up salary cap space and improve offense.
James Conner
James Conner ran for a career-high 204 yards and scored the game’s only touchdown as Arizona Cardinals defeated Miami Dolphins 28-27 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. It marked their second straight win after their 17-15 last-second win over Los Angeles Chargers the night prior – also marking a first time they’ve done it since 2021! Chad Ryland’s 34-yard field goal as time expired sealed their triumphant win.
After Arizona went three and out on their initial drive, Tua Tagovailoa led Miami on one of its finest drives ever – going 40 yards in 12 plays during an eight-minute drive and converting two third-down conversions before Raheem Mostert scored from one yard out for an 11-7 Dolphin lead midway through the second quarter.
Murray took advantage of his speed and agility on Arizona’s next possession to make some big plays for Arizona. He ran twice for gains of 10 and 8 yards before making a key read at Miami 27 in order to avoid pressure and break a tackle – speeding past one defender before making the play, setting up Ryland with a field goal attempt.
The Cardinals’ offense began its second-half drive strongly, converting a majority of third-down attempts. Their offensive unit managed two fourth-down conversions during its initial drives of the second half; both times leading directly to scores.
Arizona was looking to increase their lead when they faced a third-and-4 situation on their 26-yard line late in the third quarter. Instead of running again, Arizona decided to try burning out clock by kicking a field goal instead – and succeeded!
On a third-and-4 play, Conner broke off a spectacular run by dodging an opponent and sprinting down the right sideline for 21 yards – setting up Ryland’s game-winning field goal with less than two minutes remaining in the game. His total of 208 yards from scrimmage this week led all players in the league.
