KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings share an intense rivalry, being from the same region and both teams having long dominated the Indian Premier League for many seasons. Expect this match to be high-intensity and action-packed – both teams eager to take an early advantage and start winning matches off on a strong note.

The pitch should provide fast bowlers with good pace while providing ample bounce for batsmen to score runs off of. Both teams may engage in long innings; it could even happen that both captains will make lengthy contributions like Gautam Gambhir who scored over 280 runs over his last five matches to become second in batting rankings behind Mumbai’s Rohit Sharma.

KKR may have easily dispatched Delhi Capitals, but they will face another tough test against Rajasthan Royals in their next game. Both teams are fighting hard for playoff positions so this matchup will be crucial in each side’s pursuit of that coveted goal.

Persistent rain in Kolkata forced KKR and PBKS IPL matches to be abandoned with both teams sharing one point. PBKS still managed to move up two spots into fourth position in the table while KKR remain at seventh.

Both teams are fighting hard for a playoff berth, yet neither looks likely to make it without an upset win. Both have proven their worth against one another during IPL, making the game an exhilarating encounter; its winner will enjoy an enormous advantage in their quest for playoff qualification. It will provide both sides an invaluable chance to prove themselves to fans at home.

PBKS

The pitch is well suited to batsmen, providing an equitable contest between both sides. With its decent pace and bounce combined with spinny bowling action it should help bowlers keep things tight for wicketkeepers. There will likely be dew around the grounds but otherwise weather conditions look promising for high scoring games.

PBKS took an early lead through a swift 120-run opening stand between Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, reaching 200 runs in 20 overs and looking like they might reach even further; however, KKR batsmen held strong and prevented PBKS from posting an overwhelming victory total.

Heavy rain stopped play abruptly at Eden Gardens and prevented any chance of resumption, yet both teams gained valuable points towards their pursuit of playoff spots.

This match between two powerhouses in the IPL will undoubtedly be an exciting spectacle from start to finish. Both PBKS and KKR boast powerful batting lineups and attacks; so it will be a true test of both teams as they battle for top four positions.

This match will take place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, India at 7:30 pm local time and mark their 33rd meeting ever. In their last meeting on April 7 in Kolkata, PKKS defeated KKR by 16 wickets en route to fourth spot while KKR were left eighth – both teams hope for victory when they face each other again on April 28 in Chennai in this crucial contest.

SRH

SRH Cricket team’s home ground, owned and managed by Hyderabad Cricket Association and with capacity for 55,000, is Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Although they’ve won four matches this season overall, their home record has not been great; though in their last four matches winning three was impressive enough. Unfortunately a game against Delhi Capitals that should have gone their way was washed out due to rain.

But still managed to qualify for playoffs thanks to Aiden Markram and Bhuvneshwar Kumar being such strong players in their squad despite poor home form with strong squad including Aiden Markram and Bhuvneshwar Kumar amongst many others.

On Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will look to keep up their momentum against Rajasthan Royals in what will be their inaugural matchup of this season. The result could have an enormous impact on both teams’ chances of reaching the final. In particular, Royals have never defeated SRH at this venue and so will hope for change with this clash.

SRH’s opening pair were in incredible form and both made half centuries to set the pace for their innings. Arya and Singh opened with cautious approaches before unleashing some powerful blows to push along their scoreboard. Buttler fell soon thereafter, prompting Gill and Sundar to play smart cricket that eased some pressure off SRH.

Jofra Archer will add another formidable bowler to their ranks when he returns, hoping to increase their wicket count further. However, Royal Challengers batsmen may take advantage of the conditions at RGI to produce solid performances under difficult conditions.

LSG

Punjab failed to make the playoffs despite David Miller’s exceptional season after losing the final to Kolkata Knight Riders. Their batting and bowling performances fell far short of rival teams’, with Adam Gilchrist scoring half centuries and Shaun Marsh contributing half centuries themselves; but their net run rate (NRR) suffered as a result.

PBKS took advantage of a washed out game between them and RCB by sharing points in a result that gave both teams equal points, helping them climb up the table to jump over Delhi Capitals into fourth. Now in must-win territory with three games remaining before qualifying for playoffs; win all of your remaining matches to ensure your spot in final four.

LSG had their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs dented further following their loss against SRH in Lucknow. Their batsmen struggled to produce a significant total against SRH’s 263/6 total and this contributed significantly to the loss.

After suffering their defeat against CSK and KKR, LSGT have fallen back down to seventh in the standings, below both teams. Their NRR stands at an embarrassingly poor -0.506 and they must win all remaining matches if they hope to make the playoffs. Their match against SRH will determine their playoff fate; its winner will claim third spot while any losers drop to sixth position; should either result end in a tie, head-to-head records will come into play to decide the winners.
