India vs West Indies 1st Test

India quickly took control of the first Test between West Indies and India at Delhi with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma piling on runs, but West Indies showed plenty of resilience by stringing together an important partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope which reduced India’s advantage to just 16 runs at one stage in their innings. India quickly overturned their initial deficit of 156 runs with this effort by KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma’s runs being scored quickly against them by KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, but West Indies showed they have plenty more fight left within them than previously expected as KL Rahul and Sharma’s runs helped turn things around while trailing by one stage their innings trailed India by 16 runs at one stage, eventually becoming underdogs against India when trailed by 16 runs at one stage during their innings despite trailing by one stage.

West Indies captain Roston Chase won the toss and decided to bat on a fast, turning pitch, which backfired as Indian seamers Siraj and Bumrah dismantled his top order batting order – Tagenarine Chanderpaul was out lbw off Siraj for a duck after gloving him backwards to wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel; John Campbell too was caught behind for just eight runs.

Ravindra Jadeja provided the tourists with an impressive start, leading them to an impressive total. As they maintained momentum into the second session, however, as time progressed they started running out of ideas in creating breakthroughs – made even harder by pitch conditions that did not deteriorate as quickly compared to day three.

Jadeja struck again, dismissing Justin Greaves LBW for trying to reverse-sweep Kuldeep. When Greaves saw that his effort had failed he threw his arms up in surrender without making an appeal against the verdict. Following suit was Tevin Imlach who tried his luck but ultimately met with similar fate from Kuldeep and was also dismissed LBW due to trying to reverse-sweep him, being ultimately sent packing as well.

At 132/2, West Indies were hoping for a late charge, but soon ran out of steam. Rohit Sharma made three fifties before KL Rahul joined him to form an unbeatable 106-run partnership and put India on track towards victory. Unfortunately for West Indies they could not pick up any more wickets and eventually finished on 248/7 which sealed Shubman Gill’s first victory as captain; hoping that such an outcome is repeated when they take on Bangladesh later this month.

India vs West Indies 2nd Test

West Indies batsmen put in an inspired performance against India on Wednesday to avoid an embarrassing innings defeat in Delhi’s second Test match. Led by John Campbell’s maiden century and Shai Hope’s third-wicket stand of 177 runs, they showed application, patience and finesse while closing out the day’s proceedings on Wednesday afternoon.

Jadeja remains in control of the innings and after conceding some singles, gets one to come flying off the pitch before smashing it towards deep midwicket for six.

He then delivers another full toss, this time hitting into the covers for a boundary. Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves’ batting unit is starting to take shape, as Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves alternate strikes effectively.

Seales pulls off an innovative slog sweep by kneeling down and connecting perfectly with an outside off delivery from outside off. The ball races towards the fence for a six, giving West Indies tail an important boost.

Kuldeep Yadav once again bowls an outstanding over, conceding only five runs as Greaves and Seales from West Indies batted through another solid over to expand their lead. They did an outstanding job of frustrating India by rotating between singles and twos to keep India guessing!

Jadeja strikes again and this time it is set batter Hope who falls victim. Facing a back-of-a-length delivery around off, the Windies captain attempted a reverse sweep but completely mishit it; it bounced off his pad before rolling to his keeper for an easy catch.

Khary Pierre starts with a maiden over to frustrate India’s attack, yet KL Rahul quickly changes gears by hitting an eight-ball six, followed by fours to close in on 50 and breach 40 for the first time in this series. Rahul hopes to extend this run as he strives for an unprecedented fifth successive fifty in this innings.

India vs West Indies 3rd Test

West Indies entered their fourth and final Test vulnerable and facing the threat of series whitewash, but John Campbell and Shai Hope showed they are still capable of fighting hard enough. By pushing the game into a fourth day and stretching out this encounter, they put themselves in position for an unlikely draw outcome.

However, they still need two wickets to avoid an embarrassing innings defeat on this pitch at Feroz Shah Kotla and that will not be an easy task. They hope to avoid repeating what happened during their initial innings when they were all out for just 81, with forgettable strokes by batsmen and poor decisions by captain resulting in all out. But Ravichandran Ashwin turned up the pressure until they crumbled like an overdone cake.

India have not given them much chance for victory and they will look to play positively and secure two victories and save face. Campbell and Hope have led an impressive 248-run partnership which could save face.

Jomel Warrican has provided invaluable support, making a half-century in this series. India have several overs left and they could secure an historic victory with one last bowling over remaining.

Bhuvneshwar’s bowlers have been outstanding. He has taken five wickets while keeping the run rate low thanks to this surface’s lack of turn, forcing batsmen to work hard for runs. Washington Sundar has also done his job admirably by using short balls effectively against Powell and Ojha; Kuldeep Yadav however has been exceptional, taking three wickets already while Jayden Seales played out Jadeja over with two boundaries in that over.

India vs West Indies 4th Test

West Indies cricket team have an outstanding opportunity to turn things around in their first Test match since 2025. While touring India for four-match series that will include matches in Ahmedabad and Delhi as part of the World Test Championship tournament. Although their opening 3-0 loss seemed insurmountable at first, but John Campbell and Shai Hope fought back well to keep their opponents at bay and make this match competitive again.

Kuldeep Yadav strikes early with India on Day 4, dismissing Shai Hope for 36 with an off stump delivery that drifted slightly and struck its target off-centre, deceiving Hope who struggled to plant his foot on base and was deceived by its path.

Following Shai Hope’s wicket, Jomel Warrican got Yashasvi Jaiswal out. This put the Windies behind by an overwhelming margin; however, KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan made sure that their side didn’t collapse under pressure.

John Campbell and Shai Hope created an effective second wicket partnership that gave Windies some hope of salvaging the match, however momentum was lost after both batsmen were dismissed for half centuries. John Campbell and Shai Hope showed remarkable character in their innings by effectively counteracting spinners’ effects.

India remains in control, but the West Indies require just two wickets to have any chance at victory. If they can remain composed and maintain their nerve, then perhaps their comeback could become history-making.

India must use different tactics during the fourth innings as West Indies have taken advantage of a pitch which has lost some bite over three days of play. They should take care in using this advantageous surface in their fourth innings innings.

Shubman Gill will captain this match after Dhruv Jurel was injured during training, hoping that they can take advantage of conditions which have proven helpful to them in previous matches. But it would be wise not to place too much trust in the pitch itself as this strategy has not always yielded successful results in the past; early wickets may provide an exciting start to this final session of play.
